General Information

Venue: Mahone Middle School
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., June 21 - June 25
Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., Monday, June 21
  • ABC’s of Teaching with Technology strand participants will register on Tuesday, June 22 beginning at 7:30 a.m.
  • À la Carte participants can register any time prior to their first session.
Keynote Address: Mike Horan is our keynote speaker.
  • More information is available on the Monday, June 21 link on the left. Then click Keynote Presentation.
  • The Promethean Monday - Wednesday strands, EETT strand, and New Teacher strand will all begin their technology academy experience with this keynote address.
  • All other TechInspired 2010 participants are welcome to attend the keynote address, as well.

Registrant Information

A PDF with your registrant information was emailed to you. This document contains your personal information, your lunch choices, your Carthage credit options, and your schedule.

Reading your schedule
  • Each session is followed by a number in parentheses. ✴ The first two digits specify the day and time of the session:
  • The 1st digit indicates the day: 1 = Mon., 2 = Tues., 3 = Wed., 4 = Thurs., 5 = Fri.
  • The 2nd digit indicates the session: 1 = Session 1 (8:00 - 9:30) 2 = Session 2 (9:45 - 11:15) Lunch 3 = Session 3 (12:15 - 1:45) 4 = Session 4 ( 2:00 - 3:30)
  • The last two digits specify the room number in the 2700 wing at Mahone.

  • You will receive a printed schedule in the packet you will receive at the registration desk.

Laptops

All TechInspired 2010 participants must bring a laptop. Also bring the power supply for the laptop. Batteries will not last all day. If you have a power strip and/or a 3-prong extension cord, please bring them.

  • Laptops MUST be ready to use prior to the start of the technology academy. Please do one of the following to ensure that required software is installed and logins are configured.
  • If you are bringing your own personal laptop, contact:

TechInspired 2010 Wiki

This is our wiki for the technology academy. Information updates will be posted on this, the home page of the wiki. Session information and materials will be posted on the pages created for each session. TechInspired 2010 attendees need a Wikispaces Account to fully participate.

Create a Wikispaces Account
  • If you do not have a Wikispaces account, go to www.wikispaces.com to create one.
  • In the Get Started box:
    * Create a username and password. Don’t invent something new; a username and password you’ll remember is important.
    * Provide your work email address (KUSD, parochial school, Carthage, etc.).
    * Click Get Started.
    * You will see your New Account Page. You do NOT need to do anything on this page. You do NOT need to create a new wiki.
  • Wikispaces will send you an email. Click the link in the email to confirm that you want to join. You are taken to the Dashboard for your account.
  • You are now a member of Wikispaces.

Join the TechInspired 2010 wiki
  • In yellow box on the left, click Join the Wiki.
  • Adding something in the comment box is optional. You only need to click the button to join the wiki.
  • Your request will be approved by an organizer of TechInspired 2010 and you’ll receive an email confirming that your membership request has been approved.

Parking

You can use either the Mahone Middle School parking lot or the Indian Trail Academy parking lot.
